Ozone layer dangers

Series : Risques majeurs

Ozone is one component of the atmosphere, confined essentially to the stratosphere, produced by the interaction of the sun's rays with oxygen. Ozone protects us against ultraviolet rays, but scientists realized in the early 1970s that the ozone layer was being destroyed by chloro-fluoro-carbon emissions. Today an international monitoring network has been put in place.
