Thirty years ago, scientists still thought that some places on earth were sterile. Nevertheless, some creatures are perfectly adapted to conditions of life threatening to the majority of other organisms. Scientists called them “extremophiles”, that is to say “which love extreme conditions of life”. In this fourth and last episode, scientists study the adaptation strategies of organisms which are able to survive with a very few oxygen, light and food in the most inhospitable places on earth.
