Series : Image and science : Mutations and metamorphosis

Throughout the history of the universe, matter (particles, atoms, molecules, macroscopic objects) has undergone continual transformation. These metamorphoses made it possible for the elementary particles of the primordial universe to become chemical elements and major structures in the present-day universe.
Physicist Etienne Klein, chemist Paul Caro, and mineralogists François Fröhlich and Pierre-Jacques Chiappero describe these multiple transformations of matter, caused by chemical or nuclear reactions, which have shaped our universe.
