The Timarcha organization, founded by former students of the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, aims to help young people majoring in biology and geology to deepen their level of knowledge by doing practical fieldwork.
Sixteen students, naturalists in the making, spend a month in Guyana. With the help of researchers and teachers, they explore the nature reserves of Amana and the Trésor in order to draw up an inventory of the animals living there. They can choose from four subjects: insects, frogs, birds, and small mammals. In spite of the discomfort, heat, and difficulties of the work, the students' enthusiasm remains high.
