Since the beginning of the Neolithic Age, hard rock strata, in particular jadeite (or jade) have been explored, selected and exploited in the high altitude mountains in Great Britain, France and especially in Italy. These rocks have then been shaped in the valleys to product tools, particularly polished axes. These techniques from this “new stone age” endured during about fifteen centuries. The director of this film proposes to visit some of these mountains.
